How to use System Restore

1. Use System Restore Carefully: this utility comes handy when the operating system corrupts due to some reason. This is a system utility provided in WinXP.

When your are satisfied with the software configuration & no problem persists with the system, create a check point to that state. Whenever you face any problem with the softwares just restore to that state.

Following steps are to be followed for SYSTEM RESTORE

Step 1: Create a restore point

a) Open: “Start->Programs->System Tools->System Restore”

b) Select “Create a Restore Point”

c) Write Description of the restore point

d) Click on “Create”

Steps 2: Restore to earlier “restore point”

a) Open: “Start->Programs->System Tools->System Restore”

b) Select a Restore Point: click on calendar on left pane to check restore point to any selected date

c) Click Next

d) Click Next

e) Computer will be restarted & system will be restored
